Every year, in October, the Humane Society of Boulder Valley’s Training and Behavior team hosts Click or Treat, a fun and safe trick-or-treat night for dogs of all ages. Enriching games for dogs, treats galore, social time with dogs and people, photo memories, and a costume contest make this one of Boulder’s favorite annual events for dogs. Click or Treat is family-friendly, and all dogs go home with a goodie bag, including souvenir clicker for training. Announcements made each year in early September so you have plenty of time to plan to join us!
Planning on a puppy joining the family, or recently brought home a new pup? Check out our Puppy Parenting workshop offered once a month at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley’s Canine Education Center (located at our main shelter on 55th Street). This informative one-hour session will prepare you for puppy or help you problem solve your current situation. Designed for humans only, please leave your pups at home for a nap. Search “puppy” on our class calendar for upcoming dates.
Another ongoing initiative for the Humane Society of Boulder Valley’s Training and Behavior team is our No Choke Challenge. Talk to any member of our team to receive a complimentary no-pull Sense-ation harness ($30 value) for your dog- all you need to do is trade in your prong, choke, or shock collar. Discover a friendlier way to manage your dog on walks!

Host an Event
Our talented team of Training and Behavior Consultants would love to visit your business, company, or organization to promote science-based and positive animal training techniques. Or, we can focus on a subject such as separation anxiety, resource guarding, or fearful/anxious behavior in animals. Appreciate your staff or enrich your residents with an informative session organized by Boulder’s popular animal experts. Call 303-442-4030, extension 369, to talk to Allison Hartlage, Manager of Training and Behavior, and arrange a time for us to visit you. $249 includes a one-hour discussion and/or demonstration, and materials.
